What We’re Loving | September

Even though September is almost over, we wanted to share some of our favorite things from this month. These posts are always a fun way to get a little more personal and maybe add some inspiration/helpful tips/content you didn’t ask for to your feed as well. Trying to get a little more organized over here and break things down into three categories: business, finds and fun. So, in no particular order… here we go!

Business

Swag

Specifically Comfort Colors swag. Lance has been a huge fan of Comfort Colors shirts for a while now… we joke that they’re his work uniform. We’re so excited to get our first shipment of Studio Sullivan custom t-shirts and sweatshirts in the mail soon! Lance created a design we both love, and pretty soon you will find us dressed alike on the daily, sporting our matching sweatshirts.

Custom Business Cards

Is it sad that we’re finally, just now ordering business cards? It’s a blessing being so busy that our stuff constantly gets put on the back burner, but we’ve been needing to make this a priority for a while. We love Moo and their business cards are the best. You can upload multiple designs per order, so we had quite a bit of fun with that :) We went with the spot gloss option for printing to elevate the design and are so pleased with how they turned out. Soon we’ll be throwing them at everyone we see.

Breakthrough Brand Podcast

A must listen if you’re a business owner - especially if you’re in the creative space. I saw Elizabeth McCravy (the host) at a Business Boutique event years ago and have followed her business journey ever since. She is so real and genuine in her podcast and it has been the most helpful tool in streamlining freelance gigs and turning them into an actual business.

Our Studio Sullivan spot gloss business cards from Moo.com.

Need legit business cards or t-shirts, hats, mugs (you name it) with your logo on them?

We get it - when you’re excited about your branding, you want everyone to see it. That’s why we offer offer exclusive discounts on premium business cards as well as custom designs for promotional products as an add on to our branding package. If you’re ready to confidently tell the world about your business, we’re ready to help.

Let’s do it.

Fun

Walks

It might be lame listing walks as fun, but in all fairness, Sloane hated them for most of her life and is now loving them just in time for cooler temps and it is GLORIOUS. The best way to spend the hour before bedtime.

Quilting

Let’s preface this by saying I did not make this quilt… I assisted in the making of this quilt. My amazing friend is a quilting machine and she made it while I ironed, provided snacks and a playlist. I DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS SUCH CUTE FABRIC OUT IN THE WORLD. Planning this quilt/selecting the fabric was incredibly fun and my eyes have been opened. This will not be my last. Christmas quilts are in our future.

Croquet + Marbles

We spend every Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day out on our uncle’s professionally leveled croquet field. It’s a multi-round, all-day tournament that ends with finalists in a cut-throat game of poison. Lance and I both made it to the championship round this year, but in the end, he was the ultimate champion. I’ll get him next year.

We’re also loving having some friends over for a very intense round of marbles. If you’ve never played the game, it’s similar to Aggravation, but with playing cards and some fun twists. It’s always played boys versus girls and lately the boys have been on a winning streak. Ugh. Pair it with frozen pizza and you have the perfect evening.

The quilt we made for Elle’s big bed.

Books Em read this month:

Happy Place by Emily Henry (4.5 out of 5 stars)
Hello Stranger by Katherine Center (4.75 stars)

Finds

The Easiest/Most Delicious Curry

I can’t take credit for finding this one (one of my friends sent it to me), but it comes from my favorite food blog of all time. You literally throw all the ingredients in the Instant Pot for 5 minutes and it’s done. WHAT. We got creative and swapped out the butternut squash for potatoes and broccoli and like it even better that way. If you really want to get fancy, fry some tofu and throw it on top. You won’t regret it.

Zara Kids Clothes

We order Elle some new clothes every season and the fall collection at Zara is always my favorite because of the sweatshirts. Shopping for her is literally one of my favorite things to do, so I look forward to it every year. She already has big opinions about what she wants to wear (hot pink everything), but hasn’t quite figured out the whole online shopping thing, so we still get some say. 😬

Quarterback Documentary

Full disclosure, we watched this (twice) in August, but it’s so good we had to mention it. We’re big football fans over here and the behind the scenes glimpses into their personal lives always gets me. This show turned us into Kirk Cousins fans for sure and got us even more ready for football season. If you are (or even are not) a football fan, this documentary series is a must-watch. It’s so eye opening to what all goes into the game.

A glimpse of Elle’s fall wardrobe 😍

Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Pumpkin Bread

Ok, hang with us here. Even if you are NOT gluten free, you will love this pumpkin bread. It’s so easy and even more delicious (add mini chocolate chips and thanks us later). Elle is big into helping these days and helped Lance make this last weekend. We ate the entire batch in two days #YOLO. The best part was catching Elle red-handed trying to sneak a bite off the counter. Run to Trader Joe’s and stock up on this now. You won’t regret it.

The victim of Elle’s little hand… all she could reach 😂

We’d love to hear what you’re loving this time of year too! We always welcome recommendations or tips, so drop us a comment and let us know!
